UNLEASHED EVENT WELLINGTON
| Overall impression of Promise Keepers Event including any personal highlights: I felt that I moved closer to God, was able to worship Him on a new and deeper level and came away with a fresh anointing of His Holy Spirit. Every speaker spoke something significant into my life, my challenge now is to retain that and then move into His calling, with other godly men at my side! How do you think attending this Event will assist you in your Christian walk? A couple of speakers spoke about a fire that burns within them. I’ve felt this in the past, but Promise Keepers 2006 stirred that fire up and threw on a few good logs for good measure. David. A Woman’s Perspective: A feel so blessed to be married to David. He has been seeking God and allowing Him to work in his life over recent months and has been growing spiritually. David has been receiving biblical teaching from a number of sources and the Promise Keepers Event was one of these. He came home with lots to share and talk about. One of the action points he had written down was to take over the care of our children every now and then to allow me some time for myself and uninterrupted time to work on a project (eg. craft, sewing, etc.). I am looking forward to this. (We home educate our children, so time by myself is quite rare). David, Palmerston North I will be encouraging David to attend PK again next year. The teaching he receives and the time building relationships with other men are well worth it. Angela Overall impression of Promise Keepers Event including any personal highlights: The speakers, one and all, were fresh, vibrant, relevant, real and inspired, anointed and compelling. Highlight was Session 8 - praying with another man for the Holy Spirit baptism and tongues. He looked about as nervous as I felt. I felt the responsibility (but with peace) to pray with him and after, shared some of mine and others’ experiences in receiving and exercising the gift which I hope and pray set his mind at ease and encouraged him. How do you think attending this Event will assist you in your Christian walk? It has given me a “shove” to take greater initiative in seeing to my own growth spiritually and to be bold in ministry opportunity. To rekindle the giftings and zeal that have not had much fresh air and exercise in recent times. Christian, Masterton God spoke to me about how I am to be involved in serving with Him and my church to reach the people in our city with the goodness of Jesus. Slowly but surely. George, Lower Hutt Very good. Have had breakthrough. Ken, Lower Hutt It is very good. It is a commitment to come for a whole day and leave Debbie with the four children. Now my oldest boy came and loved it, so it is PK making me proud to bring my son and leave Debbie with the three boys. Barry, Porirua As I had just lived 25 years of my life in the Mob, this was just so inspiring in all ways through all the speakers, the dramas, the young boys and men themselves. Giving me more inspiration than ever seeing men of all ages praising God’s Almighty Name and Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Pera, Palmerston North Very inspiring and fulfilling. After losing both my brother and father in the past few months, I struggled for a purpose with God. The sessions on significance, influence and potential gave me a vision for me and my role as a Dad, husband and son. I now have a direction again. Thanks and blessings to all of the PK team. I now have practical and positive things I can do to improve God’s presence in not only mine and my family’s life, but also in the lives of others. Clive, Wellington Excellence in promoting our Lord Jesus and his purpose and direction for victorious lives empowered by God’s Holy Spirit. Thank you all at Promise Keepers for faithful and challenging programmes and for keeping us alive in Jesus and his timeless and unfailing love. I will never ever be the same again over all. Thank you Jesus, Lord and Saviour. Love you all heaps in Jesus. I am aware that my potential for growth in the body of Christ has no bounds and that I was made for God’s purpose and I can and will do all that is possible. I believe that nothing at all is impossible for those in Christ who love Him and move according to His Spirit. Bring it on Lord. Mark, Taranaki Very great speakers that spoke from experience. I learnt that’s why I couldn’t seem to move on in Christ. It was because I was held in bondage and under curses. It wasn’t until I attended PK that God set me free, now the battle begins and God has already won the war. I didn’t know what was wrong with me. I had so many problems. I realized through the speakers that I had many curses put in my life. I prayed and God came through for me and broke the curses, now I can live the life that God always intended me to live as a man of God. There truly is freedom in Christ my Lord. Amen. Harry, Wanganui Promise Keepers was great. I specifically liked Mike Connell’s session on Blessing Unleashed. Although I have had deliverance previously, I was especially blessed with the teaching on release from curses from self, leaders and bosses, etc. I felt God’s release, but the best was the exhortation to be a blessing to family, self and others. Terry, Porirua Of great encouragement and enlightenment. I am no longer floundering. A great Christian life/road map. Bri, Palmerston North Much information for reflection/action. Fellowship for both the local church and whole body was uplifting. A good Event spiritually, nourishing, conscience pricking and motivating. Fred, Masterton God was really working at this Event. The music and sound system was awesome. When the music started, tears got in my eyes. I was so impressed. The activities were well organised. Step by step they were so attractive. Very connected to the audience. Every single speaker was fantastic. We were so moved through this Event. I will say I am not ashamed to be one of the godly men. From now on I will wear my PK jacket in public as a godly man. Daniel, Palmerston North Awesome. Touching. Transforming. Reviving. All the speakers were normal, struggling men like me. I thought they were inspiring speaking from the heart sincerely. That’s what touched my heart!! I thought I was hard and tough – God didn’t think much of me. What a lie! After listening to Tony Anthony – hey I’m just a teddy bear. He spoke straight through me, so did the others. Great speakers, all of them. Geoff Wiklund, etc. All spoke of things which tears at our manly souls. I needed help. Promise Keepers is a great start! Greg, Hastings Some fantastic personal revelations – particularly in blessings. Peter, Wanganui Awesome experience. I have been wanting to come along for the past three years and this is the first time I’ve managed to get along. Highlights would include: 1. The speakers 2. The pre-warning God was showing for key messages to be heard. 3. The skits. 4. The sound of so many guys singing their praises to God. 5. Passion of the whole team, music and sessions. Basically the whole experience has been amazing. Thanks. I finally feel that God is showing me my “black side” and is preparing me for his ministry and work. Hamish, Feilding Excellent. I have had curses removed and a healing in my right elbow. I have been edified, uplifted and blessed. I feel able to step out confidently and do the Lord’s work. Chris, Lower Hutt Brilliant Event guys. Great band and excellent speakers. I especially liked Tony Anthony. I feel I was a slightly passive Christian and that I can now challenge myself on the speakers points to improve myself. Jack, Masterton Exciting, moving, have gained so much from this. Never will forget. Bring on next year. Deevon, Raetihi • Positive • Changes are progressive and insightful • Comfort level vs challenge level is well balanced • Inspirational and binding our group together Two estranged guys put their issues behind them and are reconciled! Jim, Raetihi What was the main reason that you decided to come to the Event? This year my wife brought me the ticket for my birthday! David, Wanganui This year was awesome. I haven’t felt free like this to share and praise freely for a while now. How do you think attending this Event will assist you in your Christian walk? Attending this Event has helped me realize how important it is to have God’s Holy Spirit in me and have his power unleashed in me. I believe that now I will really take the time and ACTUALLY pray and spend time with my God and Saviour – my friend. Chanthorn, Porirua Awesome. Advanced topics covered in an approachable manner. Rest up before you come – you’ll need it! Brett, Wellington I hold a very high regard for the Event again, being my third year in a row. The goodness of being able to serve the body of Christ, it’s empowering, it’s anointed. Real men putting firstly Christ above all. As He says, “I Am The Great I Am, not The Great I Was”. Stuart, Highbury While I consider myself a committed and spiritual Christian, Promise Keepers addresses the main gap in today’s church: getting men involved in the growth of faith and spirit of the gospel. As a Promise Keeper, mere participation in Christianity isn’t good enough. We’re asked to be role models of church in our families and community. This Event energizes and mobilizes us to this calling. Increasing my self confidence in evangelizing and personal growth as a Christian. Taking the next step towards building brotherhood and moving towards leadership. Mike, Palmerston North This is the best one yet! Speakers inspirational, multimedia great, worship leaders and musicians just terrific, organization effective and importantly, God’s anointing evident. Thanks PK. You’re a blessing to us. Strengthened and refocused on the church’s mission and the wonderful blessing of church relationships united and gifted for mission. Gary, Lower Hutt Very user friendly for fathers and sons. Topics covered at all sessions were very relevant. For the last four PK’s I have been coming by myself but this is the first time that I have attended with my son Christian (aged 14) and we have both found it to be a great time of fellowship. It will keep me focused and committed in terms of being a father, husband and teacher in college. Isimeli, Lower Hutt Single Focus was an uplifting experience. The awesome time of worship and fellowship. Wayne Always really worth coming to. Each message is an encouragement to every guy that attends. The Single Focus this year was better than in the past, with not so much focus on how great it is to be single, but how important a relationship with the Shepherd is, as a bloke. Music team was impressive. Transition was great. Would have appreciated a hardcore band and/or a larger room. Rapture Ruckus performed extremely well. All messages were important and relevant. Tony’s testimony, although short, was very influential and to the point. Awesome Event. Daniel (aged 15), Napier It was awesome. The worship was very powerful. Transition was awesome, the bands were great. Tony was cool. Joel (aged 13), Napier I love PK. Every year is different. This year was AWESOME. I got touched by the Lord to write my own song and I may get my church youth band to play it. Laurence (aged 15), Feilding Promise Keepers is amazing. God works through everyone all the time and it’s awesome. Lachlan (aged 16), Wellington My impression of PK was mind blowing. The speakers were awesome. I loved the worship. I reconfirmed my commitment to Christ. This arms me with information on how to get through a whole lot of stuff. Matthew (aged 14), Palmerston North Great music, especially Transition’s bands. Great speakers, especially Transition. I loved Transition’s bands, speakers, comps. Quartly, Tauranga |
