Hi %FIELD:3%,
2008 has brought greater commitment than ever before from the Promise Keepers team. The ‘Leave No Man Behind’ Events are being themed now. The concept of being personally fit for battle and then looking out for the wellbeing of all our men really lights guys up. Already 616 men are paid up for the '08 Events. The summer discount ends 30th April.
We are working with churches with resources and Coaching. Recently Paul, Greg Fry and I have been visiting churches to see what is happening at the coalface and see if we can help. All Men’s Ministry is hard work but rewarding. The stakes are too high for churches to be ignoring men.
My mother has been battling a tumour. >> more info. This has helped us to focus on the need to make the most of every opportunity and every day. As a result, we are 100% committed in the Battle for Men’s Souls. We want you to be as well!

Do You Think I'm Beautiful?
By New Man Magazine Lord knows that you have scratched your head in wonder and profound confusion when it comes to the woman that you love. You've tried to hear and understand. You want to give and respond. You've tried; we both know it. But the truth is that you can't. In a hundred different ways, she has asked you, "Do you think I'm beautiful?" and in just as many ways, you've tried to tell her, "Yes, oh my goodness, yes, you are incredibly beautiful to me."

Best Mates
As we get older, few of us have close friendships of the intensity we had when we were younger. Many older men have no close friends.
Men need men. We need some close friends to bounce ideas off, challenge us and help us out when we really need it. Other men in your church also need a friend or two. If we are going to “Leave No Man Behind” we must look for the guy on the fringe of church and reach out to bring him out of isolation.
Individually, we can be intentional about building a range of friendships. Collectively, the way forward is to get organised and ensure that a healthy Men’s Ministry provides opportunities to bring men closer to God and each other.
Promise Keepers is totally committed to leaving no man behind. Resources and ideas are gathered on our website.

Hezekiah’s Tunnel and the Siloam Inscription
NEWS: “Negotiations are underway between Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupolianski and the Turkish government to return the Siloam Inscription found during the Ottoman period to its rightful home.” Israel Today Sept 07 >>web
A highlight of a visit to Israel is walking through Hezekiah’s Tunnel. To do that is to be part of 2,700 years of biblical history that you can see, touch and feel. When the two groups of tunnellers met, they left an inscription in the rock of the tunnel wall describing the event which says:
"...the tunnel... and this is the story of the tunnel while... the axes were against each other and while three cubits were left to cut?... the voice of a man... called to his counterpart, (for) there was ZADA in the rock, on the right... and on the day of the tunnel (being finished) the stonecutters struck each man towards his counterpart, ax against ax and flowed water from the source to the pool for 1200 cubits. and 100? cubits was the height over the head of the stonecutters..."

The gaps in the text are missing sections because the inscription was looted from the wall and broken. The words come direct from 2 Chronicles 32 to us! The Turkish Government claims the stone fragments of the inscription as part of their culture from the Ottoman Empire.

Men Want a Shot at Greatness
Men want a shot at being great, at being successful. I have never met a man who wanted to be a failure or a loser. Men want to win. They want to be heroes. They want to come in first. Unfortunately, it seems the church today wants nice men, not great men. >>more From: "What are the Men of Your Church Looking For?" By Steve Sonderman
