What a fantastic finale to UNLEASHED! The Auckland Event totally went off as Promise Keepers went to the TelstraClear Pacific arena for the first time. The atmosphere was charged by the 2,700 men as they came together in unity.
Opening speakers Tony Anthony and Ian McCormack really grabbed the men’s attention and set the scene for the rest of the Event. Some commented that they would have loved to have listened to them all night.
Drama, testimony, music and video all added to the speakers in the program. The options for singles, pastors and youth were well received. In the afternoon, the inaugural ‘Truck Pull’ let some of the guys prove their mettle hauling 7,500kg Mack tractor units.
Above all, God released His power on men’s lives, enabling real change to take place. Read about what UNLEASHED meant to guys, in their own words:
The atmosphere was awesome and the speakers especially Tony Anthony and Nick on Men of Integrity grabbed my heart and the worship was breathtaking. The other speakers touched me in a special way with blessings and curses and speaking over our kids and their potential. My life has been changed dramatically. Thank you guys at PK for your faithfulness to God and the work of the ministry and you will receive your just reward. Bless you PK.

God bless you all. PK has helped my youth group and my church and my marriage of 1½ years so far and will help in years to come, and most of all my walk with God. PK has inspired me to be all that I can be and through God I know I can do the impossible.

Having the fellowship of 2,500 men in one room and hearing the worship we sang for God was a comforting feeling to know that we are not alone and that we can all stand together for God. The biggest highlight from the weekend would have been when 2,500 men were praying for South Auckland and standing together to fill in the gap between God and the people of South Auckland.
How do you think attending this Event will assist you in you Christian walk?
It has helped me to reflect on the relationship or lack thereof with my Dad and to turn that around and to take the steps to rebuild that relationship. Also with my work as a youth worker it has inspired me to go out and network and unite with fellow youth groups from our area.

How do you think attending this Event will assist you in you Christian walk?
Last year was my first time. I used to be a spectator for my first year as a Christian, then PK! I’m now a leader for a Life Group, my ministry is KONZ and I’m a leader there. I actively support my wife’s ministry “Mainly Music” and I attend all the men’s breakfasts. I’m in a 4x4 group on Thursday mornings. Yep, this will affect me alright to improve!

I just found the whole Event impacted the way that I will look at life because the speakers were awesome and their teaching and testimonies were so life changing. I have learnt so much from this Event how to build my children and how to honour my wife and I have learnt that everything is possible as long as you let God work in your life and through you for His glory, not my glory.

I have always believed that being the very best Christian I can be would make me a better husband, father, son, brother, employee, leader and friend. This Event has shown me that it is through me honouring God in each of these roles that make me a better Christian.

Inspired me to make an effort to fellowship with other men – to give to receive support as well. There is a real “comradeship” feel to it all and it gives opportunities to impact/open up other men about real issues, otherwise “hidden”.

I think that Promise Keepers was very successful and the speakers were very good. The band was good, the Transition Event was good. I think everyone liked it. They were enjoying themselves. I was enjoying myself. I think that the DVD of Promise Keepers will be awesome and I think Promise Keepers next year will be even better so I’m looking forward to coming to Promise Keepers next year.

I think it assisted me to surrender to God and it got me to know God better.

It was extraordinary! The worship and speaking was wonderful and you could really feel God’s presence. Transition was good for me and the whole Event really ahs helped me mature in character and spirituality and my relationship with my earthly father and brother has strengthened as well as my relationship with my heavenly Father.
